49. The Statement of Purpose at the Ceremony of the Forging of Relationships by the Grace of the Dharma

On xxth (day) of xx (month), xx (year) on the Won-Buddhist Era, the Buddhist disciples, parent-in-grace, and son (daughter)-in-grace, , of purified mind, confess their reasons for establishing a relationship before the Dharmakaya Buddha, the Fourfold Grace.
Dharmakaya Buddha, Fourfold Grace! Bestow upon us the light and awesome power of great loving-kindness and great compassion, so that our relationship may continue in grace and friendship and be a good affinity of mutual reliance and a foundation in practice and work eternally which will enable us to accomplish the supreme task of attaining Buddhahood.
From this relationship, we promise to exert ourselves more strenuously in the practice of the great Way and to requite some portion of the great grace we hold from You. Oh, Dharmakaya Buddha, Fourfold Grace. Consider our prayer brightly.
