Chapter 7. Reverential Enthronement and Expressing of Appreciation at Retirement

Section1. About Reverential Enthronement and Expressing of Appreciation at Retirement

Reverential enthronement and expressing of appreciation at retirement (taesa) is celebrating the inauguration of an incoming Prime Dharma Master and showing appreciation for a retiring Prime Dharma Master. Reverential enthronement means to revere and celebrate the inauguration of a new Prime Dharma Master, and expressing of appreciation at retirement means to show appreciation for all the diligent service of the former Prime Dharma Master when that person has finished and retires. The ceremony of reverential enthronement and expressing of appreciation at retirement is a ceremony performed when the inauguration of the incoming Prime Dharma Master coincides with the retirement of the retiring Prime Dharma Master. In the case of an enthronement created by a vacancy, only the enthronement ceremony shall be performed.
