Chapter 8. The Reverential Announcement

Section 2. The Reverential Announcement Ceremony

1. The reverential announcement ceremony shall be performed in the following order:
1) Opening
2) Entering Samadhi
3) Song of the Order (Hymn 2)
4) Mental affirmation
5) Statement of reverential announcement (Ceremonial Texts 57, 58)
6) Closing.
2. In the reverential announcement ceremony, one shall offer mental affirmations according to one’s wish. In the case of the reverential announcement in the Hall of Eternal Commemoration, the statement of reverential announcement in the Great Enlightenment Hall (Ceremonial Texts 57, 58) shall be applied with “the Dharmakaya Buddha, the Fourfold Grace” revised to something like “the spirits of the Founding Master and all the successive forefathers.”
3. The reverential announcement ceremony may be held in the Great Enlightenment Hall of the regional temples or before the Altar at individual homes when major undertakings related with the temple or the individual home begin and end. The ceremonial procedures shall be based on those of the Order, and the statement of reverential announcement shall be written in the name of the representative of that temple or the head of the household.
