The Scripture of the Founding Master
Chapter One: Prologue
12
When the first temple of this order was under construction at the foot of Ongnyŏ peak in Killyong-ni, the Founding Master wrote the following verses on the ridgepole:
On the bright loom of the Won, with the shuttles of the sun and moon,
Weave the law of the eternally changing seasons.
Under those words he added:
The pine tree stands, gathering the remaining spring from the myriad trees,
The brook roars with rainwater gathered from drizzles from the drizzle on a thousand peaks.
