37. The attendant said to the Master, “I saw this line in a dream, ‘Nonconfrontation, graciousness, and humility.’” The Master said, “To be nonconfrontational with regard to external situations is the basis for harmony; to graciously maintain humility internally is the basis for nurturing virtue. This is a wonderful line, so follow it earnestly. Generally, a person who is too unyielding should first focus on the practice of nonconfrontation and humility. Only then can one achieve great success in the coming age of harmony among people.”
