28. The Master said, “There are a few levels to reciting the Buddha’s name. Merely intoning the Buddha’s name with one’s mouth or recollecting his major and minor marks is recitation by those of inferior capacity. The concentration on the one sound of reciting the Buddha’s name by focusing on the Buddha’s mind and the Buddha’s deeds is recitation by true practitioners.”
