5. The Master explicated the phrase “the just (lit. fair and right) Way” from “The Grace of Heaven and Earth”: “’Fair’ (kong) refers to heaven and earth becoming the common property of all things, not just of one thing. ‘Right’ (chŏng) refers to (heaven and earth) responding to everyone in accordance with each one’s actions, without being swayed by remoteness and closeness, intimacy and distance.” He went on to explain “rational” and “irrational”: “’Rational’ is what will be accomplished; ‘irrational’ is what will not be accomplished.”
